Nickelback

Nickelback is a Canadian rock band formed in Hanna, Alberta by Chad Kroeger, Mike Kroeger, Ryan Peake and then-drummer Brandon Kroeger (the current drummer of Nickelback being Daniel Adair).

The band is now based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Its name originates from the nickel in change that band member Mike Kroeger gave customers at his Starbucks job—he would frequently say, "Here's your nickel back".

The band is signed to EMI at home and Roadrunner Records for the rest of the world. In July 2008, the band signed with Live Nation for three touring and album cycles, with an option for a fourth cycle. The contract includes recordings, touring, merchandise and other rights

Chad Robert Turton was born in Hanna, Alberta. Before becoming a musician he was a professional trampolinist.Chad Robert Kroeger (born Chad Robert Turton on November 15, 1974 in Hanna, Alberta) is the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the band Nickelback.

Legal problems On June 1, 2006 at around 1:30 a.m. Kroeger was pulled over by the RCMP in Surrey for speeding. A breathalyzer-type test later showed a blood alcohol level of .18, more than twice the legal limit of .08. Kroeger's lawyer, Marvin Stern, attempted to have the results of the later test ruled inadmissible as evidence on the grounds that the request to blow into the officer's face constituted an illegal search and seizure. The judge accepted that the search was illegal. Nevertheless, on March 4, 2008 the judge rejected the request to rule the evidence inadmissible.[4] On April 1, 2008, Kroeger was convicted for driving with a blood-alcohol concentration over .08. On May 1, 2008, the court sentenced him to pay a $600 fine and prohibited him from driving for one year.

Ryan Peake (born Ryan Anthony Peake, in Brooks, Alberta, Canada) is the Canadian lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the rock band, Nickelback. Other members of the band include lead singer Chad Kroeger, Mike Kroeger, and Daniel Adair. Ryan is the second oldest member of the band and has a wife and kids.

While recording The State, Ryan called up his old friend Ryan Vikedal to be the band's drummer. Before Vikedal joined, the band had unsuccessfully gone through several drummers, including Chad's cousin Brandon Kroeger and Mitch Guindon. Vikedal has since been replaced by Daniel Adair in 2005, amid allegations he was forced out of the group.

Biography Born and raised in Vancouver, Daniel Adair began playing drums at the age of 13. His father was also a drummer and had a set of 1967 Ludwigs in storage, which Daniel decided to set up one day. Later that day after watching some drummers in music videos and listening to Hemispheres by Rush, he heard music differently for the first time and decided that he had to learn how to drum like that. He soon became obsessed with drums, air drumming in his room all night and playing along to albums all day. He continued to self teach himself until the age of 22 influenced by Neil Peart, John Bonham, Tim 'Herb' Alexander, Lars Ulrich, and Vinnie Paul Abbott, among many others. t Adair was recording drum tracks for his new band, Burn Halo [2].

Michael Douglas Henry Kroeger, more commonly known as Mike Kroeger, (born June 25, 1972, Hanna, Alberta, Canada, now lives in Hawaii) is the bass guitarist for the band Nickelback. He is the elder brother of Chad Kroeger, Nickelback's frontman.

When performing Mike uses 5-string basses as needed for the band's songs. On one of his basses a letter "M" is visible on the fretboard in the "If Everyone Cared" music video. Mike uses Spector and Lakland electric bass guitars.

Mike was the first band member to get married and start a family. His wife and children often tour with the band. He is also the oldest member in the band.

Mike is known to be the heavy metalist of the band, being in a heavy-metal band before joining Nickelback along with Ryan Peake at the request of Chad Kroeger.
